COPPER SHINE
The New York brings the ever-popular pairing of a bright copper dial and polished blue markers to the Tonneau collection. However, the New York takes this combination to new heights with a daring use of textures and finishes to produce a truly captivating dial. The main dial itself features a pattern of concentric ridges that produce a range of highlights and shadows that give it some real depth. Meanwhile, along the outer edge is a white minute track. The hash marks are in salmon pink to match the copper, whilst the five-minute marks are in blue to mirror the hands and markers. Speaking of the applied markers, they alternate between Arabic numerals and simple batons, all of which are polished and have a rich blue colour. These have a rounded top so that they catch the light from every angle, and they’re paired with a clean polished baton handset. It is thanks to this pairing of dark blue hands and numerals against a light metallic dial that the New York is as legible as it is stunning.
FEATURES
Curved Crystal - The sapphire crystal is curved to match the shape of the case and features a bevelled edge to provide some subtle detailing. To improve legibility, the underside has been given an anti-reflective coating.
Curved Case - The steel case has a curved top that flows with your wrist, while the case sides are engraved with an outline emphasising the sleek shape. What’s more, the case is remarkably slim, measuring just 7.2mm across the curve, and 10.6mm in total.
STORY
The New York is inspired by the classic two-hand cushion-cased watches of the 1970s. These watches were notable for putting a spin on traditional two-hand watches through the use of unique case shapes, dial textures and colours. The New York looks to continue this tradition and is of course named after the iconic American city. Like the other three cities that the other Tonneau models are named after, New York is home to one of the four major fashion weeks in the world. This makes it the perfect choice of name for a watch that is so avant-garde in its design.
